A day trader must be realistic about the amount of work, discipline, tolerance to risk and luck that is needed to be successful. As the prices go up and down, the day trader must be alert as to when to sell his stock or wait for the moment to hold on it. Don't believe advertising claims that promise quick and sure profits from day trading.

Typically, day traders are well educated and well funded. The huge stock market boom of the last few years has made many Americans into millionaires, and has attracted many others into day trading. Any day trader should know up front how much they need to make to cover expenses and break even.

The best advice for an off-floor trader who wants to day- trade is to develop or buy a system that will force him into action. Day trading is extremely risky and can result in substantial financial losses in a very short period of time. Good day traders generally sell into good news and buy on bad news.

Many day traders make dozens of trades every market day hoping to capture profits that arise from small intraday price fluctuations. People who operate in the day trade markets are known as day traders. Day trading can be one of the safest forms of trading.

Day traders use only risk capital, which they can afford to lose. Remember that "educational" seminars, classes, and books about day trading may not be objective. With the unlimited potential to earn of daytrading, comes the possibility of great financial loss. Day trading is a full time job - you need to be ready to trade whenever the market shows you a great opportunity.
