Before you commence your daytrading for real you need to start first from the very basic concepts, then move on to more complex issues. The practice of trading shares on a daily basis for profit is called Day Trading. Why is it that some daytraders succeed while others fail to trade successfully in the market?

It'sessential to know how to pick good markets for your day-trading strategies. To make money in day-trading you have to be fast. Relying on out of date information to base your day trading decisions will result in poor trades.

If you can't set and stick by predetermined selling points, day trading is not for you. In the simplest terms, day trading is the purchase and sale, or sale and purchase, of a security on the same day. Confidence is perhaps the most important personality trait of good day traders.

A trade needs to be completely planned in advance. Day Trading can be very risky, so you should only trade money which you can afford to lose totally. What is a Pattern Day Trader? This is a day trader who day trades 4 or more times in 5 business days within a single margin account.

By definition, day-trading means you exit at the end of the day, so your profits must at least cover your commissions and slippage. The viability of day-trading methods does not negate the risk of trading. The preference of day traders is an Electronic Direct Access Trading service which links the trader directly to the exchange through a modem. Day trading is a full time job - you need to be ready to trade whenever the market shows you a great opportunity.
